Meet the Franchisees - Kate Howard owner/operator of the Frankston/Langwarrin franchise

Kate Howard is the owner/operator of the Frankston/Langwarrin franchise. We asked Kate a few questions so you can get to know her better and this is what she had to say.

Question 1: Assuming you already have food and water, what 3 things would you take to a deserted island?

1- My craft box, you never know when you might have to make a puppet or do a painting.

2- Google Home - I know there might not be electricity, but I’m always asking it questions - and I guess it would be good company. :-)

3- I know you said there was food, but I think I’d have to take some chocolate just in case.

Question 2: Who is your favourite band/musician at the moment?

My Spotify playlist is very random, I like to listen to Dolly Parton, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish and give me any musical and I’m happy.

Question 3: What superpower would you like to have and why?

This is a hard one, but after the year we have all had, I think it would be the power to teleport. I haven’t seen my family in the UK for a long time so just to be able to pop in for a cup of tea would be lovely.

Question 4: What are 3 pieces of advice you would give to a child as they embark on their life’s journey?

*Be You - Always stay true to who you are

*Be Kind- Kindness makes the world go round

*Smile everyday- There is always something to be thankful for

Question 5: What’s the best thing about being a Mini Maestros Franchisee?

I have had a variety of jobs ranging from zookeeper, puppeteer, teacher’s aide, but I can truly say being a Mini Maestros teacher is the most rewarding, seeing the joy on the little ones faces when they experience music is just wonderful.

Kate has written an interesting article about the importance of making time for play and learning through play.
