Deborah’s first love has always been music. As a child she learnt she was always trying to make a tune with anything she could get her hands on. She learnt guitar then organ, successfully competing in competitions and Eisteddfods throughout Victoria, and later began teaching children and adults music. During her school years and into adulthood she played and sang in community and church events, and musicals.
After bringing up four children, Deborah ended up doing PA and administrative work to make ends meet, but continued her involvement in music and performing through her local church. Her love for people and community saw her go on to study chaplaincy and work in pastoral care. She also leads women’s and young mums groups.
Now, as grandmother of several very small grandbabies, Deborah is singing and dancing with them all the time. This rekindled her desire to get back to working with music. Deborah says that Mini Maestros is the path that brings together both of her passions – music and families.
