Heidi Brockman was born into a musical family. At the age of two she began to show an interest in playing the violin and took lessons from her Aunt. Her family moved to Hong Kong where Heidi commenced studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and took up the ‘cello. She also participated in orchestral classes and performances, took music theory classes and joined the Hong Kong Singers.
When Heidi was twelve, she was offered a music scholarship on ’cello to Geelong Grammar School. She also sang in the school choir and played in several chamber music groups.
In 1996 Heidi accepted a place at the Sydney Conservatorium High School. During her years at that school Heidi’s musical abilities flourished, and she participated in many choral and orchestral performances.
When she was seventeen Heidi commenced Jazz singing lessons and was then accepted by audition to the Sydney Conservatorium Jazz course.
Heidi has diverse interests and is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Arts degree at The University of Melbourne, majoring in Literature.
Since 2015 Heidi has been giving private lessons in piano, violin and ’cello. She is also a member of the Gisborne Singers, an amateur choir in the Macedon Ranges.
