Samantha has always had a love for young children and her earliest memories are of helping look after younger siblings and neighbours kids. From an early age, Samantha was known to have a baby on her hip or entertaining a pre-schooler. As soon as she was old enough, she was babysitting as often as she could and then trained as an early childhood educator. She started her working career as a primary school teacher and then moved into childcare centres as a kindergarten teacher.
Samantha’s first musical experience was learning the piano during her primary school years and then in high school, she switched to voice lessons, choosing to sing in multiple choirs and playing percussion in the school band.
For the past 21 years, Samantha has enjoyed and valued the opportunity to be a stay at home mum to her 4 children. Both her and her husband Dave have enjoyed watching how each of their children play and create music in their own unique way on 4 very different instruments. A highlight is when they play in the church band together.
Samantha believes that music is for everyone! She can’t think of a better occupation than exploring musical experiences with preschool aged children. She believes the Mini Maestros program is a fun, engaging and educational program that offers children and their carers the opportunity to not only experience, learn and enjoy music but also bond, have fun and be creative. What a lovely way to spend time together!
