Sarah Lambourne

Sarah is a passionate music educator and performer. She began her musical journey at the age of five, when she took up the piano and her love of music was born. Since then, she has taken up the harp, guitar and ukulele. Sarah has a Bachelor of Music (Harp Performance) from the University of Melbourne and has participated as principal harpist in many ensembles including the University of Melbourne Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras, the Melbourne Youth Orchestra and The Percy Grainger Orchestra. She also enjoys playing chamber music and solo works and has participated in concerts by the Salon Project, and plays for weddings and other events.

Sarah loves to experiment and push the boundaries of harp playing with the use of her electric harp and loop pedal, showcasing music from both within and beyond the classical realms, including jazz, blues, pop-rock, and contemporary styles.

Sarah loves teaching music and seeing the joy that it brings to people of all ages. She feels at home at Mini Maestros because she has a lot of energy and is a child at heart. In addition to Mini Maestros, Sarah also teaches harp and piano lessons and directs a student harp ensemble. Sarah highly values engaging with the community by sharing music in schools for children with special needs, at nursing homes and in hospitals. She is also learning Auslan (Australian Sign Language) with the hope of increasing arts accessibility.
