Sarah commenced teaching with Mini Maestros in April 2015. As a mother of two young children, she soon recognised her enthusiasm for working with children. Sarah has been writing and composing her own original music since she was a child, and has produced her own solo CD. Before embarking on a solo career, Sarah spent years singing and playing in bands, whilst working as a live sound engineer in Melbourne and interstate. Working with Mini Maestros is a “dream come true” because it enables Sarah to combine two of her greatest passions.
Sarah completed a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Music at La Trobe University, and has also studied a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and has a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Rights, which is another passion of hers. Sarah’s vast experience ranges from working with adults of all ages in the disability sector, which included leading music and performance based programs, running her own business, and more recently volunteering at her daughter’s preschool as a musician to provide a creative musical experience for the children. Sarah believes, “Music is such an important learning and therapeutic device for children, the first common language. I am really excited about encouraging a child’s musical appreciation as this is an inherent part of my own life.”
