Diving Deeper

Diving Deeper - Learning to Listen

By Robyn Stewardson - Mini Maestros Coburg, Fawkner and Reservoir Franchisee

Still. Quiet. Listening to nothing. The littlest children in our classes are great at listening and the older ones get great at it. Funnily enough, it is harder for them as they get older, but the babies? They’re expert! That ability to just sit in the moment and focus, listening, in the case of our classes, to nothing – the absence of the music track we have just paused – is something that we adults can struggle with (we need to fill the space with ‘stop’ and ‘shhhh’), but not the babies.

Stories from Parents

Mini Maestros Moments

This is Savannah and her mum on a family holiday in Lakes Entrance, on their little boat watching dolphins. They love the water and spending time on their boat.

These pictures remind us of a Mini Maestros song "Our Little Boat." Maybe you have heard it in class?

“Come with me sailing, My little boat has room for two, Sun’s on the water, The weather is fine. Fish swimming under, Our little boat and me and you, Dolphins are jumping, There's birds in the sky…”

Thank you to Steph from Frankston for sending in these lovely holiday photos.

If anyone has photos to share please reply to this email with them and we may feature you in the next newsletter.

Mozart's Requiem

Mozart's Requiem - Special Offer

Be transported by Mozart’s final work. The Australian Chamber Choir, directed by Douglas Lawrence, will present Mozart’s Requiem in a rare performance with instruments of the composer’s time. Close your eyes and imagine yourself in Mozart’s drawing room. From the first bar of the Requiem, two enchanting classical basset horns lend their plaintive voice-like quality to the magical sound of one of the most popular works for choir.

During their first ten years, the singers of the ACC have won the outspoken praise of audiences and critics in some two hundred concerts in Australia and Europe. The Requiem will be sung alongside Palestrina’s ethereal and rarely performed Stabat Mater in a one-hour concert.

Sunday 22 April 2018 3pm The Scot’s Church 77-79 Russell Street Melbourne, also in Castlemaine and Macedon.

The ACC is offering Mini Maestro parents and carers 10% discount off regular and premium ticket prices for a limited time only. Tickets are selling fast. Book online using the code word MAESTROS, or call 0452 531 750
