Heart.Beat. Newsletter. Start of Term 1. 2021

Welcome to Term 1! We are so excited to be back into classes this week and see all those happy faces again! If you haven’t yet booked your place, please do asap as places are limited.

Every student enrolling for the full Term 1 also receives our Online Course, so you can feel secure knowing that if you or your teacher need to miss a class for any reason, you can make-up with the Online Course. It also means you can have hours of extra Mini Maestros fun and learning between classes!

Many of you already know making music is the only actively to light up almost all areas of the brain, but do you know the names of these areas and what they are responsible for? Watch the video above to learn about the magic that is happening inside your little one’s head (and your’s too!) every time they attend a Mini Maestros class or practice making music at home!

Our safe classes plan for Term 1 includes no sharing of instruments, so unless your local teacher advises otherwise, please remember to bring two of your own instruments to class; one to shake and one to tap. See the video below for more information.

New Venues

Bendigo

Rosie Savage (pictured above, far left in her wind trio) is our newest franchisee and has opened classes in Bendigo for 2021. Rosie has enjoyed a vibrant career performing and teaching music for 20 years. Her passion for music has been lifelong and this was formalised at age 6 when she commenced piano lessons. She continued piano lessons throughout primary and high school and also started learning the French horn once she was at high school. It is this instrument that stole her heart. As a horn player Rosie completed Masters in Music Performance in 2006 and has played professionally with both the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria as well as performing in various musicals, chamber music groups and on live television.

Rosie remains in demand as an instrumental teacher and has a passion for combining music performance with music education. She is involved in educational concerts with her brass quintet Shrewd Brass and her wind ensemble Eine Kleine Wind. Throughout her career Rosie has witnessed the power of music in connecting with others and has seen how learning and creating music can enrich people’s lives. This brings joy to her life and the desire to share this at a grass roots level has led her to open Mini Maestros classes in Bendigo.

Rosie looks forward to helping many children discover the sheer joy of connecting with music and connecting to others via music.
