Heart.Beat. Mid Term 3 - 2021

One foot after another we make our way through this stop start year, but the joy and learning of the Mini Maestros program remains strong whether in-person or online.

We have all rejoiced to be able to return to in-person classes when it is possible, and we hope it isn't long before classes in all States can return to the classroom. Meanwhile we have loved hearing the positive stories and experiences with the online course and zoom sessions.

It fills our hearts to read positive customer reviews, especially in these challenging times. Here is a recent 5 star review from Candice Pace.

“We have loved our classes with Naomi! Roman loves dancing to the music, playing with all the instruments and meeting friends his age. Cathy always keeps us in the loop with her emails and we really appreciate the opportunity to view the online classes during lockdown.”

Meet The Franchisees

Louise Reeder is the owner/operator of the Glen Waverley franchise. We asked Louise a few questions so you can get to know her better and this is what she had to say.

Question 1: Assuming you already have food and water, what 3 things would you take to a deserted island?

1) My favourite book to read – it would either be Peter Pan or Notre Dame de Paris

2) My keyboard so I could still play and learn

3) Something that I could listen to music on, like my phone or iPod

Tubas, the biggest of brass instruments, weigh a lot! At least 13.6 kilograms, which is about the same weight as three large chickens!

Minnesota Orchestra's Principal Tuba Steve Campbell demonstrates the different parts of the tuba. Watch and listen here.

"Mini Maestros Moment" of the Month

This month's Mini Maestros Moment was Charlotte singing "Good Morning Bumblebee."
Well done Charlotte for such wonderful singing! And what a lovely smile at the end!

Comp Winners

Winner of the Friendship Competition

Congratulations to Krystal and her baby Skylah for being the winners the last Heart.Beat.’s friendship competition. It was so heartwarming to read your story of friendship. You have won two Mini Maestros kid's hoodies from our T-Shirt Store to keep the little ones warm.

WINNING ENTRY
"Skylah and I have just started with Mini Maestros in Bentleigh. Being a first time mum in the times of this global pandemic, I wasn’t able to join a Mother’s group, so being able to get out and enjoy classes with my baby girl became not only a privilege, but a Godsend (there’s only so much Wiggles one woman can watch!).

I’m a naturally nervous person when it comes to meeting new people, especially other mums - because the eyes aren’t just on you, they’re on your baby too! So walking into a room full of gorgeous babies and ladies seemed like a bit of an overwhelming farce in my mind. However, the moment Skylah and I walked through the door and saw a bunch of mums gathered around, I was immediately welcomed, introduced and my baby girl received the same courtesy. It was all in my head - I had nothing to be nervous about!

Once inside the classroom, we all put our babies down on the floor and in an instant, Skylah was kicking her legs, cooing and giving her excited little grin at the sight of her new friends - which included lovingly pulling the hair of the baby boy who was game enough to come closest to her! Well, little did I know, that baby boy would fast become Skylah’s new boyfriend and his mum would also become one of my friends too! Seeing the excitement and enjoyment on Skylah’s face during class and then of course, whenever she sees her boyfriend from that point on, has been second to none.

All I can say is - Mini Maestros is more than meets the eye and I’m eternally grateful to have found a place where I get to enjoy watching my daughter have fun while I enjoy being myself and not just a “mum”! Thank you!" - Krystal
