Why Have Concerts

The Importance of Enrolling into Term 4

Enrolling into Term 4 means you will be enrolling into our most exciting term - Concert Term! The Mini Maestros concerts are a wonderful way to celebrate our year of learning and confidence-building together. They provide an opportunity for children to present their love of music and share their learning with friends and family.

Children need Movement

Children’s Need for Movement

This article from Maria L. Boccia Ph.D., D.Min., LMFT on the "Psychology Today" website, discusses the importance of movement and learning, and how they are interconnected. It cites studies that show how physical activity can improve overall academic achievement, particularly in maths skills. It also discusses how the lack of movement and play during the pandemic has had negative effects on mental health, and how nature therapy can help to restore wellbeing.

Music Facts

Interesting Musical Facts from 3MBS

The Concerto

A concerto is an instrumental composition, written for one or more soloists accompanied by an orchestra or other ensemble. If the solo instrument is a violin the piece is called a “violin concerto”, if it is a piano it is called a “piano concerto”. A concerto with more than one soloist is called a "concerto grosso".

They typically have three sections called movements: a slow movement (e.g., lento or adagio) preceded and followed by fast movements (e.g. presto or allegro). The word “concerto” is an Italian word (the second “c” is pronounced like an English “ch”). It means “playing together”.

KindtoKidz

Introducing KindtoKidz

Like Mini Maestros, KindtoKidz is a business with a mission to help children to thrive. It began in 2010 with founder Farah-Lee’s vision of providing mothers with safer alternatives for their children. She started selling organic baby hampers filled with natural goodies. Wooden toys were then added to the mix after Farah-Lee felt frustrated with the mounds of plastic and noisy toys received for birthday gifts. She wanted to offer parents a better alternative, not only for children, but also for the environment - which equals the future of all children on earth.

From there the business grew into offering a range of quality furniture, early learning resources and natural baby products for conscious consumers.

All items are carefully chosen based on durability, environmental footprint and educational value.

When Farah-Lee is not working in the business, she can be found hanging out with her two kids, taking a stroll in nature or thinking about the meaning of life.

Farah-Lee has been kind enough to offer a fantastic prize from her KindtoKidz store for Heat.Beat. readers, a Tenderleaf Wooden Block Wagon valued at $129.95!
